Acupuncture During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, acupuncture is a popular, safe, and highly effective, drug-free treatment for many conditions.

Almost nothing in the world makes me happier, than working with a beautiful glowing expecting momma. I’d love to help make your pregnancy a much more comfortable, glorious experience.

Acupuncture treatments can be given through your whole pregnancy. From conception to birth, acupuncture is completely safe, and becoming more recommended by physicians today.

Acupuncture is Drug Free Relief

Acupuncture during pregnancy, is a drug-free solution to many things experienced. It is much better and healthier for both mother and baby. Especially when compared to many prescription drugs such as opioids, or other medications.

As a method of treatment that has been in use for thousands of years, acupuncture is rooted in the Chinese medicine philosophy. It views the body as two complementary forces of Yin and Yang. Traditionally, acupuncture is used to balance these two forces and restore harmony in the body.

During pregnancy acupuncture can be used to reduce pain, nausea, fatigue and many other issues mothers-to-be experience.

Acupuncture During Pregnancy for Stress and Anxiety Relief

Acupuncture can also be used to relieve stress and anxiety during pregnancy. It is known to help improve the flow of energy in the body, and can reduce stress and anxiety levels for many.

When stress levels are reduced, you will find yourself feeling more relaxed and energized.

You will find this especially beneficial during the difficult third trimester, when exhaustion and stress levels tend to peak.

How Often Should You Have Acupuncture Sessions During Pregnancy?

As little as just one acupuncture session per month during pregnancy can greatly improve your baby’s health.

When it comes to frequency of treatment, for the most glorious results, I typically recommend that my patients get weekly treatments throughout the first trimester. This prevents and alleviates many common first trimester ailments such as morning sickness, fatigue, and headaches.

If momma is feeling good and no new symptoms arise, I may reduce treatments to monthly throughout the second trimester.

Weekly treatments are to be resumed in the third trimester to start preparing for labor and delivery.

When is the Best Time to Start Acupuncture During Pregnancy?

The best time to start acupuncture treatments during pregnancy, for the most glorious results, would be for me to see you for the entire pregnancy, from the very beginning.

I can begin acupuncture sessions for you and baby at ANY time, from the first trimester onwards.

For labor preparation, the absolute ideal time to start acupuncture treatment would be around week 27/28.

But, I have also worked with many momma’s to be for labor preparation from even weeks 35/36.

Acupuncture for Labor Preparation

Acupuncture is one of the most amazing treatments to best prepare a momma’s body for labor.

Starting at around weeks 27/28, we start preparing your body using acupuncture points that soften ligaments. This therapy encourages your baby to descend into the birth canal in the correct position.

I combine the acupuncture with other therapies, such as homeopathics, herbs, massage, supplements, etc.

The acupuncture sessions and other therapies prepare the cervix to dilate, and the muscles to contract when needed.

Everything works together to prepare your body for labor at just the right time.
